The CCU graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is intended for those who plan to work in international settings, or in adult education programs for ELLs in the US. This certificate provides content and application to foster the skills needed for activities such as international missions work and teaching English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL), whether in the US or overseas. Those completing the five courses in this program will receive a CCU graduate certificate in TESOL.

Students who have earned the TESOL certificate may also apply this coursework to one of two CCU master's degree programs, either the program or program with an emphasis in TESOL & CLDE. 

Admission Requirements:
  • Note: Admission to this program is not guaranteed.

  • Satisfactory demonstration of Professional Disposition Qualities throughout the admissions process

  • Complete the graduate certificate admission application online.

  • Provide your enrollment counselor with a copy of your state-issued driver's license or a state-issued identification card. This ID must include your photo and be within the expiration date.   • Submit an official transcript that reflects a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with an undergraduate grade point average between 2.0 and 2.49 will be admitted on a conditional admit (CAD) basis for the first semester. CAD students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better in their first nine (9) credits to remain in the program.
