Course Description

This experiential, in-person residency course provides intensive, hands-on training designed to prepare students for entry into professional practice experiences. Through a series of structured Professional Development Labs and Professional Application Labs, students refine and apply core counseling skills, engage in real-time skills feedback, and deepen their emerging professional identity. The course also serves as a critical gatekeeping point, ensuring that students demonstrate the professional behaviors, dispositions, competencies, and ethical readiness required before progressing into practicum and internship settings. This residency emphasizes active participation, reflective practice, and the integration of counseling knowledge with applied professional competencies. Students may be required to repeat this course if they are unable to complete CSL-514 Counseling Practicum within the standard sequence or if they fall outside the normal program progression.
