The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), BSN to DNP Pathway offers a doctoral degree to individuals entering with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree and RN license. This pathway ranges from 32-36 months in length and consists of three specialty tracks with dual emphasis: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)/Transformational Leadership, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)/ Transformational Leadership and Nurse Educator (NE)/Transformational Leadership. This program prepares nurse leaders at the highest level of nursing practice to improve outcomes and translate research into practice within their area of specialty.
The Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)/Transformational Leadership specialty track prepares students as advanced practice registered nurses in the care of middle adolescents, adults, older adults, and frail elderly. This program is 3 years in length and includes 1160 total clinical practicum hours.
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)/Transformational Leadership specialty track prepares students as advanced practice registered nurses in the care of infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. This program is 3 years in length and includes 1160 total clinical practicum hours.
The Nurse Educator (NE)/Transformational Leadership track prepares nurses as educators in academic and healthcare settings from a biblical worldview. This program is 32 months in length and includes 1000 total clinical practicum hours, 80 of which are direct care.
Admission Requirements
Have earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above based on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent from a regionally accredited university.
Have an active, unrestricted or unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state in which the clinical/practicum experience will be completed.
Have at least 6 months of full-time experience as an RN.
Submit a current resume or Curriculum Vitae through the online application process.
Complete the CAGS application to the DNP program, including essay, professional recommendation, applicable fees, and interview.
