The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics emphasizes informed interpretation and skilled translation of the Scriptures. This degree equips individuals for intercultural ministry assignments as a field linguist (missionary living in location with non-existing Christian witness) or translation advisor (missionary supporting translation efforts in locations where an indigenous church exists). The degree is comprised of four content domains: 1) foundational principles of applied linguistics, 2) hermeneutical strategies for biblical interpretation rooted in the historical-grammatical tradition, 3) intermediate linguistic skills in one of the biblical languages (Hebrew or Greek), and 4) practical skills for effective service as a cross-cultural missionary.

The B.A. in Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics is offered in partnership with Dallas International University (DIU), a regionally accredited institution with highly-qualified faculty members, most of whom have performed extensive fieldwork in the areas of applied anthropology and linguistics. Students in this major will earn 16 credit hours of applied linguistics at Dallas International University, either through a semester on location at DIU or through synchronous online courses with DIU. All DIU course tuition and fees are paid directly to DIU. CCU academic scholarships cannot be applied to tuition charges for off-campus enrollment.
