The Special Education: Generalist Licensure Program graduates earn a B.A. in Liberal Arts. The Liberal Arts Major is required because of its interdisciplinary character and comprehensive coverage of academic knowledge and skills required for special education teachers. The Special Education Generalist Licensure Program is 120 credit hours and offers supervised clinical practice experiences in elementary, middle and high school settings for students aged 5-21. Upon program completion, the candidate has met all requirements for an institutional recommendation for an Initial Colorado Teacher License with an Endorsement in the area of Special Education: Generalist.

CCU Graduates of the Special Education: Generalist Licensure Program are also eligible to apply for a Colorado Teaching Endorsement in Elementary Education upon successfully passing the Colorado-approved Elementary Education licensure exam.

CCU Graduates of the Special Education: Generalist Licensure Program earn three CCU Areas of Emphasis: Biblical Studies, Reading, and Social Studies.
