Bachelor of Arts: Communication Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies provides a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge and practical application in communication studies. Students explore the role of effective communication skills including interpersonal communication, small group communication, and organizational communication. Students also examine the role of technology, including social media, in the field of communication. Each course in the degree ties theory with practice giving students opportunities to apply what they learn. Finally, the degree also examines the legal and ethical aspects of the field of communication related to common law and statutes and in consideration of a biblical perspective.

CCU’s distinctive curriculum integrates faith and ethical considerations with the communication studies course content, which prepares students spiritually and academically for careers in business, service-providing industries, human resources, broadcasting, telecommunications, public advocacy, and agencies of the municipal, state, and national governments.
