Students who minor in Media News and Information will learn to gather, synthesize, design and produce media messages of news and information through traditional and innovative communication platforms. Courses provide very practical and applicable written and audio-visual skills in both studio and field production. The goal is to provide a solid basis for entry into media outlets, be they traditional news or new media organizations.
Students may earn a minor in Media News and Information by completing the following 18 credit hours and any required prerequisites. There can be no overlap of credits between a minor and a major, a minor and an emphasis, or a minor and a cross-disciplinary study.
Media News and Information Minor (18 credit hours)
