NUR 472A - Population Health

(3) This theory and clinical course provides an overview of population focused nursing with aggregate community the unit of care. Concepts of epidemiology, communicable disease, and environmental health are explored. Community assessment and program planning are introduced with emphasis on care coordination and collaboration. Care delivery models, health policy and resource deployment are discussed within the framework of vulnerable populations. Biblical perspectives on compassion for the poor are emphasized.

Prerequisites: NUR 315A ; Pre-licensure nursing majors only.
