OUL 223 - Advanced Rock Climbing

(2) With multiple field outings, this course provides students with concepts and industry practices to lead groups in outdoor rock climbing. Learn to set natural, artificial, and traditional anchors; risk management; mock lead climbing; climber rescue techniques; and managing climbing sites as an instructor. This course also addresses group facilitation, teaching and learning styles, and Christian metaphors applicable to rock climbing.

Prerequisites: OUL 108  or instructor permission.
