POL 401 - Political Parties and Elections(3) This course begins with an overview of the role of elections in a constitutional republic with a focus on the defining elections of 1800 and 1860. The course will trace the development of American political parties from the founding period to the present day, with a focus on presidential elections and the Electoral College.
Prerequisites: POL 215 , Junior Standing.
