(3) This course is an introduction to the teaching profession, the function of the public and private schools, and the meaning of being a teacher. Includes child growth and development; developmentally appropriate practices; family and community relationships; the responsibilities of professional educators; philosophies of education. Will introduce Performance-Based Standards for Colorado Teachers.
