Course Description
This course provides an overview of historical, cultural, legal, sociolinguistic, and political contexts of teaching culturally and linguistically diverse learners in diverse school settings. Content also includes the study of the origins of the English language, grammatical structures, dialects, and connection of heritage language to learning English. Familial influences and communication issues are also explored.
