Colorado Christian University’s Clifton Fowler Library is physically located in the George Whitefield Center on the main campus for an interim period. The print collection is in an off-campus, close-by location and library staff retrieve patron requests. The electronic collection of eBooks, journal articles, streaming music and video, are available 24/7 from the library’s website. The library has an area for study, 8 individual study carrels with computers and a private pod for meetings for 2-3 people. The librarians provide research help in person and via Zoom through the Book A Librarian service. There is also a Music Library located in the School of Music and all other CCU locations and online are served from the central library.
The library’s collections include over 640,000 circulating, reference and e-book volumes, DVDs, CDs, scores and current print journal subscriptions as well as access to over 100 full text databases across a variety of academic disciplines including almost 700,000 full text journals and periodicals. E-books number over 630,000 and include titles from ProQuest’s eBrary Academic Complete, Ebsco Academic, Gale Virtual Reference titles, ABC Clio, Springer and Sage E Reference collections. The library is a Prospector member library which gives students quick and easy access to over 30 million additional items located throughout Colorado at over 45 libraries. Students living in other areas of Colorado can also use Prospector to request CCU items which are delivered to their local public library, offering enhanced access for CCU students all over the state.
Librarians are available from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm from Monday through Wednesday, to 5:00 pm Thursday through Saturday and 2-6 pm on Sunday via Zoom. We have numerous ways for students to reach us; walk-ins, Book A Librarian, phone, email, and chat help. The librarians provide instructional classes, research help, and involve faculty colleagues in collection development. The library website offers Subject Guides as well as an excellent collection of electronic tools and How-To tutorials to help with using the library and doing research. The library is a warm and collegial place, popular with students, and is open seven days a week during the regular semester and the eResources are availabel 24/7/365.
